The Holiday Painting weeks are suitable for Amateurs, Improvers,
Semi Professional and Professional Artists. Our Painting Holidays/Weeks combine painting/drawing on location with painting in the studio. You use watercolour, pastels, acrylics, oils and mixed media. Plus a varied programme of topics. ALL your expert tuition is included and ALL your materials. You don't have to bring or buy a thing - EXCEPT YOURSELF!
ALL YOUR PROFESSIONAL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED - INCLUDING 2 HAND MADE CANVASES AND AS MANY COMMERCIALLY MADE CANVASES YOU REQUIRE.

Five days painting at JoeDaisy and accommodation in Mapledurham - you chose your own accommodation from Mapledurham's web site. Price is £700 for the painting week - which includes all tuition, all materials. Lunch every day.
Five days painting at JoeDaisy Studio and accommodation for four nights in Greendene or Neals Farm B&B = £950 - this includes everything all meals, all tuition, all materials. All prices are plus VAT

COURSE PROGRAMME HOLIDAY WEEKS All Your TOP QUALITY PROFESSIONAL materials are provided.
*1st DAY - Monday - Start 10.0am Refreshments in the lounge. Introduction to your Professional Artist.
10.30am Learn about your materials. Familiarise yourself with your Professional easel, brushes, paints etc.
11.00am DRAWING AND COMPOSITION. We start at the beginning. Your artist teaches you how to compose a painting. You are shown paintings from famous artists and taught how a painting is composed. You are shown how to draw including perspective & focal points. You practice as you learn.
12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Gallery We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. During the day, there is a coffee, tea, soft drinks, bottled water and wine available - along with nibbles and you are encouraged to make the Studio 'your home' for the week i.e take rests whenever you want to, walk around, look at the art books, look at the paintings and prints in the Gallery, sit and chat etc. We want you to feel as if you are at home but with the added bonus of every top quality Professional art material and facility you could desire!
THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL BUT RELAXED AND ENCOURAGING. NO NEGATIVE CRITICISM!! no need for that!
1.30am On Location in Mapledurham - at the watermill, river thames and glorious landscape. A continuation of how to compose a painting and drawing. We draw in pastel or charcoal. To learn essential Tonal Values. (If the weather is inclement, we will do this session in the Studio)
Day finishes 4.0-5.0pm
7.30pm Evening Meal in one of the local pubs.
*2nd DAY - TUESDAY-
Start 9.0am PAINTING IN ACRYLICS. Your artists demonstrates acrylic techniques. You paint on a hand made canvas (Up to size 100x100cm - 40x40") and we paint either a:
a) Still life, b) inspiration from a photograph or c) the tonal drawing you made yesterday.
You explore all the painting techniques of acrylics. You use all your composition and drawing skills learnt yesterday. Your artist shows you how to professionally prepare your hand made canvas. You plan your painting, with colour, form and technique.
12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Gallery We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. 1.30am Carry on Painting on your hand made canvas.
Day finishes 4.0-5.0pm

3rd DAY - WEDNESDAY
START- 9.0am WATERCOLOUR TECHNIQUES. Your artists shows you how to create with watercolour. Including traditional and modern approaches.
10.0am GO ON LOCATION to Windsor or Henley. PAINTING IN WATERCOLOUR.
12.30am Pub Lunch
1.30am Back to the Studio FOR AN OIL PAINTING LESSON
- you paint along with the artist.
Day finishes 4.0-5.0pm
- we can go on to 6.0pm - we want you to take home a good portfolio of work
7.30pm Evening Meal in one of the local pubs.
if weather is inclement we will paint in the studio. Painting in your own space with all the Professional materials you require. Your own easel, painting table and Hi Stool. Guidance and asistance given at all times. Encouragement and tuition on the use of Mixed Media.
4th Day - THURSDAY -
9.0am STILL LIFE -This is where you chose your favourite medium. Watercolour, oils or acrylics. Your artist shows you original approaches to still life drawing. You paint in your chosen medium.
12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Gallery We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. During the day, there is a coffee, tea, soft drinks, bottled water and wine available - along with nibbles and you are encouraged to make the Studio 'your home' for the weekend i.e take rests whenever you want to, walk around, look at the art books, look at the paintings and prints in the Gallery, sit and chat etc. We want you to feel as if you are at home but with the added bonus of every top quality Professional art material and facility you could desire!
1.30am Carry on painting. Exploring mixed media, collage or whatever interests you!

5th Day - Friday
Start:9.0am
PAINTING IN THE STUDIO - TODAY IS TOTALLY ABOUT YOU. YOU DEVELOP WHAT YOU WANT TO. ABSTRACTS/LANDSCAPES /FIGURES/STILL LIFE.
You tell us what you need to work on from the last four days.
