A professional approach to 'Alla Prima' (all in one go) oil painting. Everyone has their own space, with Professional easel, painting table, paints, brushes etc. ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED. Blending, mixing colour, preparing canvas, brushes, composition etc. Tuition manual is included.

All form is a combination of these shapes. So our first session was learning how to make the right brush marks to create the form and then learning how to blend. This student did a perfect job!
This is a very concise oil painting weekend, starting at the beginning, with the essential brush work skills, then going on to colour,
(how to mix - tones etc) then going on to your own compositions.
ALL YOUR MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED. Lunch on both days. Accommodation on Saturday night is also available.

COURSE PROGRAMME - OIL PAINTING WEEKENDS
SATURDAY
Arrive 9.45-10.0am Refreshments in the upstairs lounge. Meet your fellow artists.
Introduction to JoeDaisy Studio and your Professional Artist.
10.30am Paints, brushes and equipment. KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT. A complete
overview, explanation and
comparison of products. Every artist has their own space with professional easel, painting table and hi stool. ALL YOUR PROFESSIONAL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED.
Caroline shows you how to prepare your canvas and demonstrates techniques. Caroline or Colin start at the beginning with palettes, painting knives, painting brushes etc and shows you how to prepare your canvas for painting. You paint along with Caroline or Colin and learn how to; compose your painting, create a focal point, balance/mix colour etc. The first session is brush marks and blending
12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Gallery (Sometimes a barbecue in the summer) We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. During the day, there is a coffee machine, tea, herbal drinks, soft drinks, bottled water and wine available - along with nibbles and you are encouraged to make the Studio 'your home' for the weekend i.e take rests whenever you want to, walk around, look at the art books, look at the paintings and prints in the Gallery, sit and chat etc. We want you to feel as if you are at home but with the added bonus of every top quality Professional art material and facility you could desire!
1.30pm 2nd session - we move onto colour - with your own still life..
4.0pm We talk about what you want to paint tomorrow and prepare your canvas for tomorrow's painting.
5.0pm Day Ends
