TYPICAL PROGRAMME
SATURDAY (All times are approximate)
Arrive 9.30-9.45am Get together in our upstairs lounge, meet your fellow artists. Have a cup of tea or coffee, or water or even wine!!
10.0am Your tutor explains the course and introduces you to the Studio. No-one lives here, (although it looks like a beautiful house!) it is just a studio and is your "home" for the weekend. So relax and enjoy!
10.10am Choose your place in the painting studio. Every place is the same, with professional paints, brushes etc. Everyone has their own professional easel, painting table and high stool. Your tutor explains which are the best products to use and tells you why.
10.15am "Painting with Passion". The power of one (very special!) brush. You are encouraged to "interpret" the photographic inspiration. Your tutor explains how to interpret (all will be explained). Painting is all about YOU and not creating another photograph!! If you have not attended our Beginners Course you will still learn how to create a professional product and acquire all our top tips!
Everyone works at their own pace and each student is encouraged to paint their own way. (We do NOT teach you to paint like us!! But just show your professional techniques)
We are not here to "Judge" you - just to help you create a professional painting!
12.15am Critique your paintings - time to go ooooh, aaaaaah again!!
12.30pm LUNCH In the upstairs lounge or outside on a good day. We provide a lovely fresh buffet with fresh food, meats and cheeses, salads etc. We are suitable for vegetarians but if you have a special diet, let us know. Tea, coffe, water, soft drinks, red and white wine are available.

SUNDAY - 2ND DAY (You can paint in oils today PROVIDING you know the CORRECT way to paint "alla prima")
Arrive 9.0am. We start early this morning and finish about 3.30pm, so that students who have long journeys home can leave in daylight.
After yesterdays tuition, you should be really "thinking" about how to interpret inspirations and what sort of inspirations to work from (photographs, drawings etc). We show you how to create your "vision" and what colours, marks etc to use. We expect to be creating original paintings today with a touch of "flair"!!
12.0-12.30pm LUNCH In the upstairs lounge or outside on a good day. We provide a lovely fresh buffet with fresh food, meats and cheeses, salads etc. We are suitable for vegetarians but if you have a special diet, let us know. Tea, coffe, water, soft drinks, red and white wine are available.

3.15pm Critique your paintings. Another "ooooh" "aaah" session ..............!!!
Day ends. Time to collect your paintings and say goodbye (very sad) but most people come back again and again!
This is a "Stage 2 or Improvers " Painting weekend where your tutor does not impose his/her will on you but encourages you to paint "LIKE YOU" with enjoyment, encouragement and in a relaxed, friendly environment. Most students come back for further teaching in Stage 3 or go on to explore abstracts or portraits - for which there is a 10% discount for any returners.
WE REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!!!!! |
