ABSTRACT PAINTING

Over the years we have learnt what you artists need and the constant request is 'How do I create an Abstract?'

This is an Abstract Pinting course - suitable for everyone.

Or if you want to be 'more expressive' in your painting'. It's all about colour, the marks you make and interpretation of line. EASY!!

There is a process to abstract painting and proper composition is ESSENTIAL to pull off an abstract painting. To create an abstract - you need an inspiration - this course is about the inspirations from landscapes.

Everyone has their own space, with Professional easel, painting table, paints, brushes etc. ALL PROFESSIONAL ART MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED.

TYPICAL PROGRAMME

SATURDAY

Arrive 9.45-10.0am Refreshments in the upstairs lounge. Meet your fellow artists. Introduction to JoeDaisy Studio and your Professional Artist.

10.00am Paints, brushes and equipment. KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT. A complete overview, explanation and comparison of products. Every artist has their own space with professional easel, painting table and hi stool. ALL YOUR PROFESSIONAL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED.

11.0am Understanding Abstracts. What sort of 'abstract are you going to create? Expressive, Interpretive, geometric, etc How do you form an abstract? Understanding line, colour, composition and concept.

12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Lounge We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. During the day, there is a coffee machine, tea, herbal drinks, soft drinks, bottled water and wine available - along with nibbles and you are encouraged to make the Studio 'your home' for the weekend i.e take rests whenever you want to, walk around, look at the art books, look at the paintings and prints in the Gallery, sit and chat etc. We want you to feel as if you are at home but with the added bonus of every top quality Professional art material and facility you could desire!

1.30pm We work on creating an abstract from a photographic landscape inspiration. ALL WILL BE EXPLAINED!

4.30pm Day Ends - you leave with paper and charcoal + notes to work further on your abstract (should you want to!).

COURSE PROGRAMME - SUNDAY

Arrive 9.30am Refreshments in the upstairs gallery.

10.00am Creating Your Abstract. We do not put paint to canvas until we have established our concept and have the drawings/ideas (you created) to work from.

12.30pm Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Lounge

1.30pm CARRY ON PAINTING YOUR ABSTRACT in acrylics, oils or mixed media.

3.00 ASSESSMENT AND CHAT.

3.30pm. Collection of your paintings and course notes, Day Ends

EXTENDED WEEKEND - MONDAY

9.30am Arrive, Carry on painting your picture from yesterday or start another. We supply you with another canvas - so if you don't use it - take it home! Another day is actually just what the doctor ordered! You are feeling totally at home in your space and the Studio feels as if you have been here for weeks!

12.30pm Lunch

4.0pm Day ends.

This weekend course is an ABSTRACT PAINTING weekend with additional drawings/ideas created after the course on the first day. Most students come back for more specific teaching but this is a great course to start with AND an exclusive opportunity to use top quality professional materials with tuition from an exceptionally talented and capable professional artist. WHO DOES NOT IMPOSE HER WILL ON YOU!! BUT ENCOURAGES THE ARTIST IN YOU!
